Sex Education

Mission: To increase youth access to comprehensive sexuality education

Message: We believe that young people can make positive sexuality decisions that protect their health, safety, and futures if they have:

  • Hope for a bright future and perception of opportunity
  • Access to information from accurate, non-judgmental sources
  • Guidance from caring adults who respect their rights and capabilities
  • Support for their healthy choices, including abstinence and condom and contraceptive use
  • Access to condoms and other contraception

Comprehensive sexuality education can provide many of the supports necessary for healthy sexuality decisions by including:

  • Accurate information on biological, psychological, and cultural dimensions of human sexuality
  • Exploration and affirmation of values, attitudes, and emotional feelings associated with sexuality
  • Exploration and understanding of healthy intimate relationships
  • Support and skills for delaying sexual behavior until physically, cognitively, and emotionally ready for mature sexual relationship and the consequences
  • Information on responsible, mature sexual behavior that includes how to protect against pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases

Method: Become a voice for comprehensive sexuality education in your community.
