On the whole, teen pregnancy rates have been on the decline over the past five years. In particular, Massachusetts has long had one of the lowest teen pregnancy rates in the country. Despite these trends, there are number of disturbing increases in certain pregnancy rates. In addition, international comparisons have brought to light some striking differences between practices in the United States as compared to some European countries.
