Public Opinion Polls
The National Campaign to Prevent Teen Pregnancy conducts regular polls to gather information about abstinence and contraception, parent-child communication, peer involvement, religion, and sexual behavior. For example, almost half of all teens cite parents as most influential in their decision-making about sex. Polls also measure adult attitudes. A 2003 poll found that nearly 70% of adults believe that stressing abstinence to teens, while also providing information about contraception, is a "clear and specific" message.
