Training and Technical Assistance Services

The Alliance is now offering training and TA (technical assistance) on a fee-for-service basis. We are available to consult with youth-serving and healthcare professionals throughout Massachusetts on a variety of topics related to program planning, selection, implementation, increasing access to and quality of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, evaluation and sustainability for teen pregnancy, STI, and HIV prevention as well as comprehensive sexuality education.  { Read more … }

Teen Outreach Program

Teen Outreach Program (TOP)

In summer 2010, the Alliance became a certified TOP Replication Site. TOP is a national service learning program that currently reaches over 20,000 teens in schools and organizations across the U.S. TOP is effective at increasing academic success and preventing teen pregnancy.  { Read more … }

Springfield Teen Birth Rate Up; Holyoke Tops the List

Boston, MA—According to the Massachusetts Department of Public Health, the national 2006 teen birth rate increased from 71.6 births per 1000 teen girls aged 15-19, to 80.7, a 12.7% increase. Holyoke’s rate is the highest in the state.

Partners in Prevention Project

The Partners in Prevention project assists nonprofit organizations, family planning agencies, community coalitions, and schools to select, implement, and evaluate science-based approaches to teen pregnancy prevention.
