Training and Technical Assistance Services

The Alliance is now offering training and TA (technical assistance) on a fee-for-service basis. We are available to consult with youth-serving and healthcare professionals throughout Massachusetts on a variety of topics related to program planning, selection, implementation, increasing access to and quality of youth-friendly sexual and reproductive health services, evaluation and sustainability for teen pregnancy, STI, and HIV prevention as well as comprehensive sexuality education.  { Read more … }

Massachusetts Teen Parent Programs

Young Parent GED Program (YPP)

  • YPP is the only alternative educational setting designed for expectant and parenting adolescents on welfare who are required to be in school full-time.
  • Can also include teen parents under 18 who are ineligible for TAFDC due to “grandparent deeming”
  • Teen parents receive education leading to a high school diploma or GED, job skills training, job placement assistance, and access to parenting classes, counseling and family planning.

About the YPPF

The Massachusetts Alliance on Teen Pregnancy Young Parent Policy Fellows (YPPF) is a group of current and former teen parents working to help government decision-makers understand the needs of pregnant and parenting teens in Massachusetts. The Fellows provide the Alliance with a teen parent perspective on our policy strategies and projects. This improves the effectiveness of our advocacy on behalf of teen parents and provides teen parents an opportunity to build leadership skills and get involved in policy advocacy.  { Read more … }
