Aliance led workshop equips Berkshire youth with facilitation skills
March 13, 2011
An Alliance-led interactive workshop with Berkshire Count youth was covered by The Berkshire Eagle.
The teens will work alongside adult facilitators, discussing topics like health issues, decision- making, how to say no and age of consent. Lauren Payne- Riley, 18, is a sophomore at Simon’s Rock who helped organize and recruit students for the training sessions. She said she and her fellow facilitators can help fill the education gaps by making the conversation more relatable.
“If your goal is to educate, and they are more receptive to someone our age, than the ultimate outcome is probably better,” said Payne-Riley.
