Program Evaluation and Research
Although recent data indicates an overall decline in teen pregnancy rates, it is vital to develop and implement strategies to provide effective programs and services to teens in order to further reduce teen pregnancy, particularly in communities that continue to have high teen pregnancy rates. In addition, it is important to note that children become new "teens" every year so it is important to continually improve existing pregnancy prevention programs. These effective programs are often called "science-based" or "evidence-based" because they are supported by research.
