Teen Parents Protest Patrick's Proposed Cut to Education

This morning over 50 expectant and parenting teens demonstrated at Springfield City Hall in protest againt Governor Patrick’s proposed cut to the Young Parent Program (YPP). Corporation for Public Management organized the demonstration, which included YPP participants from both Holyoke and Springfield. Click here to view press on the event! YPP is the state’s only education and workforce development program designed to help expectant and parenting teens attain their High School Diplima or GED and secure gainful employment. Governor Patrick has proposed to eliminate funding for this program. Make sure you call or email your Senator and Representative and urge them to protect funding for the Young Parent Program!
